1998
The Women's Work program shifted its focus to parents and created "A Parent's Handbook: How to Talk to Your Children About Developing Healthy Relationships." Developed in conjunction with Dr. Richard Gallagher, director of the Parenting Institute at New York University's Child Study Center, the handbook offers parents straightforward advice to help guide their children into positive and fulfilling peer and dating relationships. The company also produced a television PSA with Manhattan-based creative agency SS + K featuring the voice of actress Ashley Judd and encouraging people to speak out on the issue.
In October, Liz Claiborne introduced the 1998 commemorative fundraising items: a watch and long-sleeved T-shirt with the campaign's logo, "Love is not abuse is not love." The items were sold through the Women's Work product order line and in the stores; in addition, the Company held its fifth annual Charity Shopping Day.
