Radio Bloomington/CAEPV
In Central Illinois, Radio Bloomington and local Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence (CAEPV) members are co-sponsoring "It's Time to Talk Day" to raise awareness throughout their community. This year the focus is on safety and wellness in relationships--whether they are at home, in the workplace, online, in dating relationships, in the faith community, in schools, or the community in general. Local CAEPV members will be participating in "It's Time to
Talk Day" in the following ways:
- Holding a press conference to announce "It's Time to Talk Day" at Illinois State University
- Cosponsoring a program on teen dating violence awareness and online safety with the 11th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council
- Holding a lunchtime seminar on youth, bullying and exclusion for parents in Downtown Bloomington, sponsored by the Soroptimist of Bloomington-Normal
- Extensively running a special television show about domestic violence in all residence halls at Illinois State University during the week of September 23-29
- Local governments and universities issuing proclamations of "It's Time to Talk Day" and encouraging citizens to take a moment to talk about domestic violence
- Distributing educational materials in workplaces
- Distributing domestic violence awareness brochures to clients
- Holding seminars for employees
- Providing information to employees via the Internet and Intranet
- Writing informational articles for employee newsletters
- Working with local schools to share the message about safety and wellness
- Providing Public Service Announcements and radio interviews (Radio Bloomington)
- Sponsoring a half-page ad in the local paper on "It's Time to Talk Day" encouraging the community to take a moment to talk
- Providing a healing opportunity event for survivors of domestic violence (closed to public)
